Learn what your mother didn't teach you, and have yourself a happier Moontime.
This 3 hour workshop blends gentle asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and mudras (hand postitions) together with a body-and-spirit-honouring, land-based ancestral perspective to help all those who menstruate (regardless of gender identity!) discover the intuitive wisdom of their own bodies. A wide spectrum of approaches is articulated in simple, modern language, informed by the ancient masters and Juniper's own journey to discover her best personal practice while on her Moontime. This workshop includes experiential practice, beginning and ending in a sacred circle in which participants have the opportunity to discuss their own feelings about their menstrual cycle, ask questions, explore cross-cultural perspectives, and cultivate a personal strategey for easing physical and emotional Moontime discomfort.
Participants go home with a pamphlet outlining the techniques learned. This includes general guidelines for practice, as well as a self-assessment chart to help each individual easily understand and identify how to bring balance to their lives each month, paired with self-care techniques. This is a document that you will revisit every 28 days!
No previous yoga experience is necessary. All bodies and abilities welcome. Bringing a pen to make notes in encouraged.
