Tibetan Singing Bowl Meditation
Taught by Tibetan lay monk Dam Cchoi Lama, this sound healing massage utilizes the powerfully clearing vibration of a handmade seven-metal singing bowl to dissolve energy blockages throughout the entire body. This treatment involves light grounding touch with the hands, followed by sound vibrations received through the air, through the therapist's hand, and directly from contact with the singing bowl itself. Clients lay on their back for the first half of the treatment, and on their front for the last half, remaining fully clothed throughout. The vibration of the singing bowl clears blockages in the subtle or pranic body, as well as powerfully catalyzes the brain into a state of deep relaxation.
This form of massage is guided by your body's natural wisdom - each treatment will be different depending on your needs. From the top of your head to the tips of your fingers and toes, you'll be relieved of tension and opened to experiencing the joy of a liberated body.
Gentle massage of the head - including scalp, face, and neck - stimulates acupressure points corresponding to the entire body, activating the parasympathetic nervous system for deep relaxation. Many people find cranial massage to be both pleasurable and meditative. This session may include Dien' Cham' (Vietnamese facial reflexology technique) to address specific ailments and imbalances.
Yoga Nidra is sometimes known as "yogic sleep" or "lucid dreaming." Laying comfortably on your back on a yoga mat, sometimes supported by props or pillows, you will receive cranial massage and be adjusted into correct alignment for deep physical relaxation, and covered with a blanket for comfort. Once the body is relaxed, you are guided into a meditation that relaxes the mind, opening the potential for you to access a dream-like or visionary state while awake.
This is a holistic treatment often incorporating parts of the sessions listed above, and is recommended for folks that wish to focus on an area of their life where the mind and body intersect. For example, one form that this treatment may take is a Holistic Grief Integration Session.
